The Nigerian Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to providing the necessary support for personnel, acknowledging their sacrifices for the country’s peace and stability.
This assurance was given by Major General John Ochai, Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), during a reception for soldiers wounded in action, held at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna State.
Describing the soldiers as true heroes due to their sacrifices for Nigeria, Major General Ochai emphasized the importance of honoring them with special occasions to foster a sense of belonging. He reassured the soldiers that the Armed Forces of Nigeria stand by them through their recovery and are dedicated to ensuring they regain their health.
Major General Ochai also affirmed that frontline troops in various operational theaters nationwide would receive necessary support in the event of injury or death, stressing that their sacrifices would never be forgotten.
Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the overseeing Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, urged Nigerians to remember and support the families of those who have lost their lives in the fight against terrorism.
Colonel Stephen Onuchukwu, the acting Chief Medical Director of the hospital, expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that it would strengthen the soldiers’ resolve and foster an unbreakable bond beyond the battlefield.
The event was attended by Commanders and Commandants of various tri-service institutions from within and outside Kaduna State.
