Former speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila has resigned as the Speaker of the house to take up the role of the Chief of Staff to the president.
The Ex Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila was appointed as the Chief of Staff to the president.
The letter of resignation he wrote was presented on the floor of the house and read by the speaker, Tajudeen Abbas to the whole house.
There had been several talks and longings to discovering how he is going to manage both roles given that the former Speaker had been inaugurated alongside his colleagues on Tuesday and had voted as well for the leadership of the House.
The Member representing Surulere 1 has now tendered his resignation and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will now have to conduct a fresh election to fill the role he had resigned from.
