Federal High Court in Abuja Sets May 29 for Trial of Miyetti Allah Leader

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has set May 29 as the trial date for Bello Bodejo, the detained leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore.

The trial date was scheduled following the court’s denial of Bodejo’s bail application.

Bodejo was apprehended by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) on charges of establishing an ethnic militia organization, Kungiya Zaman Lafiya, to promote terrorism. He has since been held in DIA custody in Abuja.

In March, Bodejo was arraigned on three counts by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), accused of violating the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
