Former Ibadan transport union leader, Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, has been remanded in prison by an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, on allegations of murder. Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi ordered his remand at the Agodi Correctional Centre due to the court lacking jurisdiction.
Lamidi, who was previously declared wanted by the police, was arrested by the Department of State Service. The remand is pending the issuance of legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution, and the case has been adjourned till July 11 for mention. Lamidi, represented by Tope Olayinka, faces four charges including conspiracy, causing death, and theft, in connection with an incident at Baba-Onilu Shopping Complex in Iwo Road, Ibadan.
The charges are in violation of various sections of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000. One of the incidents involves the alleged stabbing death of Azeez Rahman Abiodun and the theft of phones valued at N150 million from Azeez Hammed Adebayo.
