The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the tragic death of five of its personnel in a road accident that occurred on Tuesday along the Jos-Akwanga expressway.
In a statement released by the NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the personnel were en route to Abuja for a sporting event when their vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming truck.
“The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) deeply regrets to announce the loss of five of our brave personnel involved in a fatal road traffic accident on October 22, 2024,” the statement read. “The incident took place near Hawan Kibo on the Jos-Akwanga Express Road as they were traveling to Abuja for a sporting engagement.”
The NAF has activated all necessary administrative protocols to support the families of the deceased and has urged the public to respect the privacy of the bereaved during this difficult time.
