2Baba Declared Missing, Family Seeks DSS Intervention

Lagos, Nigeria  —  The family of Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) over his sudden disappearance.

In a statement signed by their solicitor, Wilson Anuge, the family disclosed that 2Baba went missing on February 10, 2025, after leaving his residence for a routine walk dressed in loungewear but never returned.

Despite extensive efforts by his family, staff, and record label, no trace of the singer has been found.

“This unexpected disappearance, coupled with over 72 hours of silence from someone who maintains regular contact with his loved ones, has left the family in deep distress,” Anuge stated.

He further emphasized that 2Baba has never gone off the radar or abandoned professional commitments in such a manner, making his sudden vanishing particularly alarming.

Compounding concerns, several of his close associates have reportedly received suspicious messages from his social media accounts soliciting financial assistance.

“These messages are deeply concerning, as Mr. Innocent Idibia is financially stable and has never made such requests. The family fears his identity has been compromised and that he may be in danger, potentially forced to solicit funds under duress,” Anuge explained.

The Idibia family has called on the DSS to deploy its expertise and resources in locating the missing artist.

Meanwhile, 2Baba’s absence has left his music empire in limbo.

His disappearance comes just days after publicly confirming his relationship with Natasha Osawaru, Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, following speculation about his separation from his wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia.
