The Kaduna State Police Command, in collaboration with the Armed Forces and other security agencies, has conducted a Confidence Building Show of Force Operation to demonstrate the readiness of security forces to maintain peace and order.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, emphasized that the operation aims to warn potential troublemakers from using the protest to cause destabilization in the state. High-ranking officers, including the Commissioner of Police, Garrison Commander, and Commander of Civil Defense, among others, actively participated in the operation.
The deployment of over 25,000 police, armed forces, and other security personnel to strategic locations is intended to ensure strict compliance with public order and prevent any form of violence during the protest. The police have reiterated that citizens have the constitutional right to peaceful assembly and protest, emphasizing that the protest should be conducted peacefully.
Additionally, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,000 personnel in Kaduna to safeguard lives, property, and critical assets during the planned protests.
