25 Honoured as Petroleum Ministry Celebrates Service

Abuja, Nigeria:The Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources has honoured 25 retired staff members for their exemplary service, professionalism, and dedication throughout their careers.

The recognition ceremony, held in Abuja, was part of the Ministry’s 2025 Ministerial Awards and Recognition event—an initiative aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration to promote a culture of excellence and uphold the dignity of labour.

Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emeka Obi, mni, led the event and presented awards and commemorative tokens to the retirees. In his remarks, Dr. Obi commended the honourees for their commitment and urged serving officers to emulate their integrity and work ethic to further enhance productivity in the oil and gas sector.

“A well-motivated civil servant is indeed the engine of national development,” he noted.

Director of Human Resources Management, Mrs. Asma’u Adaji, lauded the Permanent Secretary for initiating the recognition programme, stating that it has significantly boosted staff morale and aligned the Ministry’s operational culture with international standards.

“With the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act, the Ministry remains focused on achieving excellence in all its strategic goals,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, Mr. Isah Babagana expressed gratitude for the honour and encouraged current employees to remain steadfast in their service to the nation.

The event concluded with the presentation of commemorative gifts and monetary tokens to each awardee, in appreciation of their contributions to the Ministry’s development and legacy.
