The Middle Belt Youths Group, Lagos State chapter, has declared its support for Seyi Tinubu to become the governor of Lagos State in 2027. The group emphasized that Seyi’s candidacy would ensure the continuation of the legacy and achievements of his father, Bola Tinubu.
During a press briefing held at Lagos Eko Hotel on Thursday, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Middle Belt Forum, Dr. Stanley Augustine Kavwam, and the National Youth Leader, Capt. Brent Kane, highlighted Seyi Tinubu’s inclusive leadership qualities. They noted that he, like his father, has shown a remarkable ability to uplift diverse communities within Lagos and beyond, making him a fitting candidate for the state’s highest office.
The group praised Seyi for his detribalized approach to leadership, stating that he prioritizes unity among people regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or gender. According to the group, this quality is especially vital in a cosmopolitan state like Lagos, which is home to people of various backgrounds. “With Seyi Tinubu as governor, the interests of minority groups, such as those from the Middle Belt, would be safeguarded,” they asserted.
The group described Seyi as an exceptional leader, standing out among the children of prominent figures in the country. Unlike many, they observed, he maintains close relationships with individuals across ethnic divides and actively supports diverse communities. His connections to the South-East, highlighted by his marriage to a South-Easterner, were noted as an additional strength.
Citing examples of his humanitarian efforts, the group commended Seyi for his swift response to the devastating floods in Borno State, where he mobilized resources and provided significant relief. “This level of compassion and commitment is rare, especially among children of political leaders,” they remarked.
Acknowledging his efforts toward youth empowerment and national integration, the group revealed that their national body in Abuja approved the endorsement. They urged Seyi Tinubu to step into a leadership role, describing 2027 as the perfect opportunity for him to bring his vision for Lagos to life.
In their concluding statement, the group declared, “Seyi Tinubu embodies the qualities needed to lead Lagos. It is time for him to rise to the occasion and lead the state to greater heights.”
