2026 WCQ: Super Eagles must beat South Africa, Benin — Onyeka

Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka has said it is important for the Super Eagles to win their next two games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles are still without a win in the qualifiers with two draws against minnows Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

Finidi George’s side will entertain the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their next game on Friday, June 7.

The former African champions will be away to Benin Republic at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan three days later.

Onyeka insisted that it is important for the Super Eagles to win the two games.

“In all seriousness, we have to go to that game with everything because of what it means to us and to the country. Two points from two games is not good, so we need to win our next two games. We’ll give everything and be ready for it,” Onyeka told Tobi Adepoju in London.

“We know Gernot Rohr and it’s not going to be easy. The teams in Africa are not easy to play against, so we’ll go with all seriousness in the hopes that we get the win.”
