Yola, Nigeria — In a striking display of demand for public sector employment, the Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has reported over 20,000 applications for just 4,000 job openings within the first 24 hours of launching its recruitment portal.
The announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Abubakar Maiha, who credited the overwhelming response to the transparent recruitment directive issued by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Governor Fintiri had instructed that the recruitment process be conducted with equity and integrity, providing all applicants a fair opportunity to compete for positions across various ministries and departments.
“In line with His Excellency’s instructions, we are committed to a merit-driven exercise that reflects transparency and inclusivity,” Maiha stated.
In response to the high application traffic, the Commission has reportedly enhanced its digital infrastructure to prevent disruptions and ensure smooth processing.
The application window will remain open for two weeks, during which interested candidates are encouraged to apply early to avoid technical delays.
Shortlisting and interview phases are scheduled to follow immediately after the application deadline, with successful candidates expected to proceed to documentation.
Maiha concluded by reaffirming the Commission’s readiness to deliver on the Governor’s employment initiative, which aims to strengthen the state’s civil workforce and reduce unemployment.
