Fourteen individuals have been apprehended in connection with violent disturbances and looting in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The arrests were announced by the State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, during a press briefing following the State Security Council Meeting at the Government House in Rayfield, Jos.
Commissioner Adesina stated that the actions of the arrested individuals had severely disrupted public peace.
He explained that the imposition of a curfew was essential to prevent further breakdowns of law and order.
Adesina emphasized that security agencies would intensify efforts to ensure strict compliance with the curfew.
He urged residents in the affected areas to adhere to the curfew, warning that anyone found violating the order would face severe consequences.
