Twelve political parties are set to participate in the local government elections scheduled for July 13 in Adamawa State.
The chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Alhaji Mohammed Umar, announced this at the conclusion of a two-day screening for candidates seeking various positions.
Umar stated that the screening was conducted to ensure all aspiring candidates meet the necessary criteria and standards, thereby maintaining the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
He assured that the upcoming local polls would be conducted in a free and fair manner in the state.
According to Umar, 12 out of the state’s 19 registered political parties will participate in the forthcoming election.
