100 evacuate Al-Shifa Hospital as 450 remain in premises

Reports indicate that a significant number of individuals have evacuated Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, a site that Israeli forces have been searching for days.

Health officials in Gaza said 450 patients had been left behind at the hospital following repeat warnings that the sick and wounded would not be able to escape

Al-Shifa hospital has become the focus of the Israel-Hamas war, now entering its seventh week, as Israel closes in on what it says is a façade for a Hamas stronghold – claims the hospital and Hamas deny

According to media reports, those leaving the hospital raised their hands and carried white flags.

The eyewitness detailed a night marked by gunfire, explosions, and the presence of bulldozers that excavated substantial holes in the hospital yard.

Medical personnel stated that the Israeli military ordered an evacuation, while the IDF maintains that it facilitated a secure exit route following a request from the hospital director.

Israel has accused Hamas of operating a command center beneath the hospital, presenting images of an alleged tunnel shaft and weapons as evidence.

The hospital complex has been a shelter for doctors, patients, and thousands of forcibly displaced individuals. since the conflict started.

In the past two days, more than 20 patients have reportedly lost their lives at Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital due to ongoing Israeli forces’ raids, as reported by a hospital official and the Palestinian health ministry in Gaza.
