A ten-story building on Broad Street in Lagos, Nigeria was engulfed by a raging fire, destroying goods and properties worth millions of Naira.
Emergency responders, including the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, LASEMA, and the Police rushed to the scene to help extinguish the blaze.
According to Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, the fire began on the first floor and quickly spread to the fourth floor.
Adeseye stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but urged the public to adhere to fire safety regulations to avoid such incidents in the future.
A raging fire broke out on Broad Street in Lagos, and firefighters from the Sari Iganmu and Ebute Elefun stations were sent immediately to put out the flames.
According to Adeseye, the cause of the fire is still unknown and no one was hurt. Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor, shared an update on his “X” handle, saying that the firefighters were fighting the fire from both the front and back of the building.
The fire affected several structures, including the Mandilas Building on Broad Street in Lagos Island. The fire was successfully put out with the help of the first responders, including firefighters, police, and the Rapid Response Squad.
This incident highlights the importance of having a well-equipped and coordinated emergency response system in place to deal with such incidents. It also highlights the need for proper safety measures to be taken in buildings, in order to prevent such incidents from happening in the first place.
